... baby Peter!
Wow what a whirlwind it's been these last few weeks (and even months). Finishing work for a while for maternity leave, and then eagerly awaiting his arrival, it felt like it went on forever. The due date came and went, co-incidentally is also Kritter's birthday, and STILL no baby. I thought he was eager to make an arrival but managed to prove us very wrong.
So the story goes something along the lines of this: Contractions begin one day after the due date, and go for about 5 days before we head to the hospital to get checked out. Expecting to come back home, I'm admitted and labour is induced that afternoon. Unfortunately through the night the induction didn't fully take and in the early hours of the morning I was taken for an emergency caesarean. At 4:50am on October the 7th (and here's something amusing, October 7th was a public holiday... LABOUR DAY) Peter is born, healthy and huge. He's a whopping 10lb 9oz!
I spent the next 4 days in hospital, and Kritter stayed with me every day until late. We're all home now and things aren't all roses. It's amazing in between sleeps just how little time you get to do things, and I feel like as soon as I've managed to eat food and sit down, it's back to the baby XD We're also both sick and after the sleepless week beforehand too we're exhausted, all we want is sleep and the little feller doesn't want to give us any ;_;
It'll get easier, I'm sure!
Thank you to everyone from the last journal offering names (and some via notes which of course I haven't been here to check ;_; ) and warm wishes. You'll understand if I'm not around much for a long while, and for this I apologize. I do have a TON of art to upload but I won't be doing any for many weeks to come... If I can upload some I will but this place may be barren for a while longer. Hopefully I can return soon.
